About rita
Growing up and living in Englewood
My family and I moved to Englewood when I was five years old. I attended Maddox and Cherrelyn Elementary schools, Sinclair Junior High School and graduated from Englewood High School. I attended Colorado State University, majoring in math and science. After two years at CSU, I married my husband Dan. Dan is an Air Force veteran and a retired U.S. Postal Service supervisor.Dan and I have lived in Englewood for most of our married life. We have two children and four amazing grandchildren.
For 20 years, I owned and operated a painting and decorating business, providing a service for many different clients.
I am active in my local church and have volunteered for para-church organizations. My work on leadership training and development, including curriculum development, made the transition from private citizen to public servant less daunting than it might otherwise have been.
Thanks to many of you, I was elected Council Member at Large for two previous four-year terms. I served as Mayor Pro Tem and am currently a City Council liaison to the Budget Advisory Committee; the Code Enforcement Advisory Committee; and the Non-Emergency Employees’ Retirement Board.
